If you have not been to the Vendee region before, it is on the west coast of France below Brittany, and is easy to reach from all of the UK’s south coast ports. Ports such as Portsmouth and Poole offer the most direct routes via Cherbourg, Caen and Roscoff, with these routes leaving you a 4 hour drive or so to the first of the Vendee parks. Alternatively you can travel via Calais but this will require a longer drive taking in the sites around Paris and the Loire Valley!
