Paris Jazz Festival 11th June to 31st July 2011: Holiday parks in Paris area: International and La Croix du Vieux Pont, Berny Riviere

For many people, and Jazz enthusiasts especially, the Paris Jazz Festival is the place to be this summer. And according to the organisers The Musical Summer at Parc Floral will reach new heights this year, from June to September, with a jazz and classical tribute to the sounds of the Americas, enhanced by a botanical exhibition showcasing the strong ties between Nature and Music through time and space.

If you are in it for the jazz, the concerts presented on the main Delta stage and in the Clearing of Improvisations, every weekend from June 11 to July 31, will develop a wealth of stylistic themes: an ode to the piano; Latin jazz, hot and sizzling; circus music; blues, funk and soul; as well as a celebration of the big band, the “symphony orchestra” of the jazz world. All the colors inherited from the blue note will paint an iridescent picture in the glorious setting of Parc Floral.

If you are looking to travel to the Paris Jazz festival from the UK this year it is worth going over before the school holidays if you can, so you have a bit more time and space at the event and, more importantly, make the most of the lower travel and accommodation costs prior to the school holidays premium hike!  If you are looking for cheap quality self catering accommodation close to Paris then there are a number of holiday parks in Paris area and a couple of them we have stayed at and can recommend:

  • La Croix du Vieux Pont at Berny Riviere is easily reached from Calais. Although outside of Paris, it is an ideal for trips in to the centre of Paris and equally well placed for Disneyland Paris excursions. It also has a swimming pool complex, restaurant and other on parc facilities. You will find self catering accommodation in the form of mobile homes and static caravans. More here>
  • Camping in International Paris is a great base for visiting the city of Paris and the Disneyland Resort Paris.  The park itself has less facilities, such as no swimming pool, but has excellent transport links that make it a great holiday base. You will find self catering accommodation in the form of mobile homes and static caravans. More here>
