British still set on summer holidays in 2009

Owner of Thomson Holidays, TUI has reported stronger British demand for summer holidays in recent weeks. Research conducted by TUI suggests that 87% of British customers will take an overseas holiday in 2009.

Likewise travel websites Find Holiday Parks and The Self Catering Guide have also reported a very strong demand for summer holidays throughout January for holidays in Europe but also in the UK.

Although the recession is being analysed to death in the media it would appear that for the UK holiday maker their holiday may be one of the last things they choose to cut back on.
