UK holiday boom predicted

Friday, February 13th, 2009

The weak state of the pound could lead to British holiday makers choosing to take more holidays in the UK this year a tourism chief has suggested.  The VisitBritain chairman believes that tourism is one of the few industries that could show growth during the current recession and highlighting that by 2018 the industry could be worth as much as £133 billion (currently it is around £114 billion).

It certainly seems true that athough the recession is receiving daily coverage in the news media, holidays appear to be the last thing that people are currently prepared to sacrifice.  Bookings for UK holidays ranging from B&B and guest house accommodation to self catering, boat holidays and holiday parks have all been experiencing a very positive start to the year.

Boat Holiday UK launches new website

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Boat Holiday UK has updated its website with all the latest narrow boat, barge and cruiser boat holidays available across the UK.  With boat holidays on the Norfolk Broads, the UK’s rivers and canals, and the Scottish Lochs, there are many different options available.

UK boating holidays remain incredibly popular, and with the British Pound not buying as much abroad as it used to, many are now turning to the water for their summer holiday in 2009.

The website enables you to view all of the boats available, from the traditional narrow boat and barge, through to a modern luxurious cruiser at each of the UK leading waterways.  You can find out more details of the boat, check availability and book online.  Find out about boating holidays in the UK >
