British B&B’s offer best value and great service

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

In a recent survey by Trip Advisor British B&B’s filled 9 of the top 10 places in the top bed and breakfasts in Europe table.  It was a damning result for the London hotels, none of whom made it in to the top 25 list of hotels.  According to European travellers the best British hotel was Rudding Park, near Harrogate, Yorkshire which was praised for it ‘faultess service’.  Runner up was Manor Coach House in Worcester.  3rd and 4th places went to UK regional hotels in Cornwall and Llandudno.

It is no surprise to see the much maligned British B&B do so well – as many offer quality accommodation and great personal service.  If you want to find a B&B in the UK please visit The Bed and Breakfast Guide.  If you are looking for superb hotel accommodation visit The Quality Hotel Guide.

Self catering bookings in the UK starts year positively

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Although the doom and gloom about the economy seems fairly non stop, The Self Catering Guide – a UK directory of cottage and self catering accommodation – has reported strong visitor traffic and sales during January.

Traffic in the first weeks of the year is up 56% on the same period last year and backs up data seen elsewhere that the UK holiday industry may benefit from UK travellers choosing to stay closer to home this year.

With bookings of holiday cottages selling fast there could well be a shortage of available UK accommodation in the summer, so booking early is advised.

530 new UK cottages added to The Self Catering Guide

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

The Self Catering Guide, a directory of some of the UK’s best cottage and self catering accommodation, has recently added over 530 new properties to its listings.  The new accommodation includes properties from the south west of England to Scotland, beach locations to those close to superb fishing outlets.

UK cottage holidays remain a popular holiday escape and the demand in 2009 is expected to be even higher as people choose to holiday closer to home.  The booking season for cottages and self catering accommodation really kicks off from Boxing Day so if you want the pick of the best in 2009 there is no better time to start looking.  Search for 2009 cottage and self catering accommodation.
