"Self catering is always a bit of a worry because you never know what you are going to get and the saying "you get what you pay for" could never be more appropriate. We arrived late in the afternoon after a very long and delayed journey and were greeted by a very lovely receptionist who was welcoming, very helpful and knowledgeable. Our initial impression of the park was very pleasing; everything looked very smart and well kept. We drove to our lodge and were very pleased to see that we had a wonderful sea view. Once inside the lodge we could not have been happier, a real home from home; clean, very tidy, modern and spacious beyond our expectations! Without exception, we had every creature comfort from home and more! The price for the week was at the top of our budget at just over £1000, but it was worth every penny! Our favourite places to visit, Ilfracombe - what a pretty town with lots of activities, walks and shops to pop in and out, the harbour is lovely and a fab little restaurant called "The smugglers" (think that’s correct) has a great family menu with reasonable prices. Woolacombe beach is an absolute delight and the wildlife and dinosaur park definitely worth a visit, particularly feeding the lions and lemurs. There is so much to see and do and in North Devon and Mullacott Park is a great place for a holiday base. 04/09/2011 00:00:00"
