Surfing in Cornwall – September/October 2010

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

As the school holidays draw to a close and we head in to September and October it is the perfect time to be thinking of a surfing break in Cornwall.  The roads and beaches are finally becoming quieter and the swells are starting to grow, so this really is a great time to hit the beach in the south west of England.

Popular surfing locations such as Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay in Newquay and Polzeath near Padstow are great places to head but there are pleny of other great surf beaches to aim for.  Click here to find out more about surf schools and surf hire in Cornwall.

If you are heading to the south west there is plenty of accommodation available, particularly as we head to the end of the season, ranging from self catering cottages and apartments to some great holiday parks and lodges, including:

British B&B’s offer best value and great service

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

In a recent survey by Trip Advisor British B&B’s filled 9 of the top 10 places in the top bed and breakfasts in Europe table.  It was a damning result for the London hotels, none of whom made it in to the top 25 list of hotels.  According to European travellers the best British hotel was Rudding Park, near Harrogate, Yorkshire which was praised for it ‘faultess service’.  Runner up was Manor Coach House in Worcester.  3rd and 4th places went to UK regional hotels in Cornwall and Llandudno.

It is no surprise to see the much maligned British B&B do so well – as many offer quality accommodation and great personal service.  If you want to find a B&B in the UK please visit The Bed and Breakfast Guide.  If you are looking for superb hotel accommodation visit The Quality Hotel Guide.
