Eurostar sets passenger record to France in 2008
Despite a serious fire on board a freight shuttle in September last year which restricted services, Eurostar set record passenger numbers. The high speed train operator to France and Belgium carried a record 9.1 million passengers in 2008, an increase of more than 10%.
The service which runs out of St Pancras to Paris and Brussels hopes to maintain passenger numbers this years as more people opt for short breaks in 2009.
